Here’s what I reaped on yesterday:

I did go a few days ago and purchased

(2) Nivea for Women Body Wash, 8.4oz
(2) Gillette Body Wash
(1) Popsicle, 100 ct.
(1) Lay’s BBQ Chips (Had my 3yr. old with me and she INSISTED that I get her those chips!) 🙂

(2) $4/1 Nivea for Women
(1) $4/2 Gillette

Subtotal: $13.34
Subtotal After Coupons: $0.34 (those chips!)
Tax: $0.66
Total OOP: $1

Each time I went the coupons did make the register “beep” or something because both cashiers made sure to re-read the coupons to make certain that I was indeed purchasing what was on the coupons. Neither said anything to me and went ahead and did an over-ride, so as long as you’re purchasing what is stated on the coupon you should allowed your overage. Their coupon policy, which I included at the top, does NOT state otherwise.

I’m so glad you posted a copy of your receipt. I went the other day to the Dollar General on Ladson and the cashier and the manager refused to take my coupons for the Gillette. I explained that it was for the products listed but they refused. I emailed the corporate office and did receive a message back from the district mngr to call her but she left a long distance # and I don’t have access to dial long distance. I thought that was pretty unprofessional….oh well. I will try again this week. Hopefully I’ll get your cashier!!!!

Greetings Shawna!

What was their reasoning for not accepting the coupon? This really gets to me. The coupon clearly states that it can be used on the Gillette Body Wash, their coupon policy does NOT state that you cannot use it on items that would make them FREE…and furthermore, they are receiving the FULL value of that coupon back plus an $0.08 handling fee!

Can you please e-mail me the corporate office number in which the lady left you and I will contact her myself and report the results…you can use the contact button to make it easier.

I also posted a link to their coupon policy. Maybe taking that along with you would help as well.

Hello and welcome! I am a military spouse & mom of four boys and two girls, ages 1 to 10, oldest diagnosed with autism. We're located in the Charleston, SC area. My family and my faith are very important to me. Since I've started using coupons I have been able to save more money and become a better steward of my household. I hope to seed into the general public, and our military families, how to spend less and get more.

Get ready to take your grocery & household spending to a whole new level! Couponing is not only a means to seed but an avenue to harvest...both opportunities are endless & a joy to delight in.
