Kay’s Reapings: Commissary (6-30)

Posted on: 06/30/2010

I’m doing my July trip a day earlier as I needed to run into the store to grab a few items and we’re gearing upfor mid-year vacation. Well those few items turned into a full blown shopping trip which I had not planned for at all, but I did have my coupon binder with me, recently re-organized ;), so I wasn’t unprepared, per se, but simply not geared up to work out a transaction. In the end, I still think we did pretty well with a savings of 50%. Our monthly budget at the Commissary is $145 a month, with Hubby being back I think I may increase that to about $175 to add in those items in which he enjoys as well. With us not spending as much as I have been in the past couple of months at the Commissary, it still seems a little weird, but I thank God that we’re no where near where we use to be and can now spend even this amount and feel comfortable financially.

Here’s what we reaped:

I still need to run out right quick to do my Piggly Wiggly run so I’ll be back in about an hour to share what all was included.

Total: $348.30 (surcharge: $16.59)
Total # of items: 195
Total # 135
Coupon Savings: $168.60
Balance: $179.70
That is a Savings of 50%

Hello and welcome! I am a military spouse & mom of four boys and two girls, ages 1 to 10, oldest diagnosed with autism. We're located in the Charleston, SC area. My family and my faith are very important to me. Since I've started using coupons I have been able to save more money and become a better steward of my household. I hope to seed into the general public, and our military families, how to spend less and get more.

Get ready to take your grocery & household spending to a whole new level! Couponing is not only a means to seed but an avenue to harvest...both opportunities are endless & a joy to delight in.

I welcome feedback and comments! Thank you again!
