Kay’s Reapings: Publix 7/14 (New Week, New Deal)

Posted on: 07/14/2010

We are preparing to get on the road but I needed to take a moment to share this deal with you all and give a heads up about other sources for coupons. As some of you may already be aware of, I’ve been grabbing deals at Publix & the Commissary the past two days to gather some of our meals for the vacation. I believe I’m just about done, although I would have liked to have gone to Publix a few more times this sales week…won’t be happening….anywho, on today we stopped by on our way to another “to-do” list location and reaped the following:

(2) St. Ives Facial Scrub, 2/$5
-used (2) $0.50/1 St. Ives Product (~Military Tearpad)
-used (2) $2/1 St. Ives Facial Cleansers, Scrubs (Rite-Aid Video Value Q)
makes them FREE plus overage (used this overage to cover the $0.50ea. needed for the lotion below)

(2) St. Ives Lotion, 2/$5
-used (2) $0.50/1 St. Ives Product (~Military Tearpad) ~doubled
-used (2) $1/1 St. Ives Lotion (Rite-Aid Video Value Q)
makes them $0.50ea.

(2) Rosetto Ravioli, BOGO, $3.99
-used (1) $1.50/2 Rosetto Ravioli (PRINT)
makes them $2.49 for two (2)

(2) Orville Redenbacher Gourmet Popcorn, BOGO, $4.89
-used (2) $1/1 Orville Redenbachers Popping Corn, Cheese Flavored, 3pk+ (PRINT)
***Here’s what I wanted to point out: Ask for the coupon booklet BEFORE shopping. I failed to do so on today and missed out on another $1 savings. There’s a new coupon booklet at , “Pool Party Recipes & Savings”…over $20 Savings Inside!…that has a $1/2 Orville Redenbacher Publix coupon (exp. 8/12). Using that coupon in addition to the MFQs I could have added another item to my transaction such as two bags of Green Giant Steamfresh, two more bottles of Sobe Water, AND two more boxes of Kellogg’s Fiber Plus Cereal…all less than a dollar total after coupons.

(1) BIC Soleil Razor, BOGO, $5.49 ($2.75)
-used (1) $3/1 Bic Soleil Razor 7/11/2010 SS Insert (exp 10/31/2010)
made it FREE plus $0.25 overage
*Remember to activate your $1 UPromise

(2) Kellogg’s Fiber Plus Cereal, BOGO, $3.99
-used (2) $1/1 Kellogg’s Fiber Plus Cereal (PRINT)
-used (2) $0.75/1 Kellogg’s Fiber Plus Cereal (TARGET)
makes them $0.49 for two (2)

(1) Nabisco Chips Ahoy!, BOGO, $2.99 ($1.50ea.)
no coupon

(1) Publix Brand Frosted Flakes, $2.59 (Penny Item) -first time getting the Penny Item since they changed the days they offer the item…wow!)
-used (1) Penny Item coupon

-used (1) $5/$25 Rite-Aid

Order Total: $0.13
Sales Tax: -$0.02
Food Tax: $0.11
Grand Total: $0.22
Your Savings at Publix: $53.21

Our first vacation, I went through the house and simply grabbed items from our freezers and stockpile to avoid daily trips out to eat and such…took enough items that we ended up bringing some back home. The only thing that I didn’t like was the fact that I took items that required me to spend more time in the kitchen than I really wanted to being on vacation. This time around I’ve been trying to select things that could sort of cook or bake on their own while we play family games or what not. Here’s what I’m looking at so far:

Breakfast:
Quaker Oatmeal (from stockpile)
Cereal (from today)
Pillsbury Frozen Pancakes (from stockpile)
Pillsbury Frozen Toaster Scramblers (from stockpile)

Lunch:
Tony’s Ham & Cheese Pouches (from Commissary today)
Tony’s Steak & Cheese Pouches (from Commissary today)
Sandwiches (Bread & Deli Meats from Commissary trip today)
Rosetto Ravioli
Luigi Italian Ices (Publix last night)

Snacks:
Apples (from Commissary trip today)
Chips Ahoy! Cookies (Publix & Commissary)
Milk (Commissary)
Soy Milk (for oldest) (Commissary today)
Popcorn (Publix today)

Dinner:
Bird’s Eye Viola (Publix last night)
Simply Potaoes Red Potato Wedges (Publix last night)
Bird’s Eye Steamfresh Baby Veggies (Publix last night)
Rice (Commissary yesterday)
Tombstone Pizza (Commissary today….btw the $2/1 FACEBOOK Q makes them less than $1ea.)
Salad (stockpile)
Knorr Sides (stockpile)

I’ll go through our stockpile to fill in each of the areas to ensure we have a variety of things to choose from. These items will be what we use to feed all eight (8) of us

Hello and welcome! I am a military spouse & mom of four boys and two girls, ages 1 to 10, oldest diagnosed with autism. We're located in the Charleston, SC area. My family and my faith are very important to me. Since I've started using coupons I have been able to save more money and become a better steward of my household. I hope to seed into the general public, and our military families, how to spend less and get more.

Get ready to take your grocery & household spending to a whole new level! Couponing is not only a means to seed but an avenue to harvest...both opportunities are endless & a joy to delight in.

I welcome feedback and comments! Thank you again!

Kay
