Online School Solutions (Review)

Posted on: 08/01/2010

For the past few years we had been struggling with whether or not to send our oldest to a brick and mortar school. With the many challenges he faced, with his diagnosis of autism, his well-being was of utmost importance to my husband and I. We’d gone through so much with him and then came the challenges of having two more of our children fighting through issues at their respective schools; bullying, inappropriate gestures towards them, in school and on the bus! Needless to say, finding a solution for all of them was at the TOP of our list.

Through sheer determination, we sought out, and found, an online school that would provide our children the ability to complete their required work within the comfort of our home and without the daily stressors that met them each day on the outside.

If any of this sounds similar to your current situations you can rest assure in knowing that there IS hope. If you’re seeking a public or private online school in the state of South Carolina take a look at OnlineSchoolSolutions.com. Now, I must add that this opportunity IS available Nationwide, so visit the link above and click on your appropriate state. Each state offers a private school option (The Keystone School), with select states also offering FREE Public School options for grades 7-12. Minnesota, however, also offers a Public School for grades K-12.

The online public school available in this state, Palmetto State eCademy, offers the same opportunities as a brick and mortar, such as a variety of extracurricular activities, field trips, and AP classes! As a matter of fact, one of our deciding factors on schooling from home was this idea of the children being able to join different groups of interests. In addition to the core classes, Palmetto State eCademy also provide electives in the following areas:

World Languages (Spanish, French, German, Latin, Japanese)
Business/Finance
Computer Science
Fine Arts
…and MORE!

Looking into online schooling environments is a great way to ensure that your children are receiving the necessary tools to successfully make it through school, without the added stress of bullying and peer-pressure. Whether you decide to enroll your middle and/or highschool student in the public or the tuition-based private school, know that you are giving your child a great chance to learn at his/her own pace with the support of experienced teachers, and the most important person, YOU, the parent!

What are the differences?

Keystone School (private):

•Students can enroll any time of the year
•Complete flexibility for students to create their own schedule and have 12 months to complete their courses
•Students are offered optional mid-term and end of course assessments to measure achievement growth
•Work with other students from across the US and around the world!

Public Online Schools:

•Tuition-free
•Students follow a traditional school year
•Students may be required to take standardized state tests

**Note: Keystone School also offers family and military discounts!

School begins soon so hurry over and see if this is an opportunity that fits the needs of your family. Don’t let the fear of putting together an appropriate curriculum scare as this is already done by the school!

Legal Disclaimer: This review was provided through an opportunity from MomSelect. I received a $20 Target giftcard for my participation, however, this compensation did not guide my expressed views of online learning opportunities. All ideas and thoughts are that of my own and were based upon my personal review of Online Learning Solutions and that of our family’s past and current experiences with online learning schools.
