Kay’s Reapings: Rite-Aid Oral B & Old Spice (9/26)

Posted on: 09/26/2010

I had this nice little plan in my head…going to the store happy…knew I was going to get there to work out my three transactions, mostly for my Dad’s birthday celebration today, only to get there and see two (2) items left of what I wanted.

No worries, I guess…decided to do the one below:

(6) Oral B Pulsar Toothbrushes, $4.99ea.
-used (3) B1G1 Oral B Manual Toothbrush, 1ct., 8/15RP

(2) Old Spice Fresh Collection Body Spray, $4ea.
-used (1) B1G1 Old Spice Body Spray, 8/29P&G

-used (1) $5/$25 Rite Aid Purchase (PRINT)
-used $14 Up+ Rewards

***Now before I go any further I must point out something VERY important here. This is the first time that I’ve ever used my UP+ rewards prior to handing over my coupons. Going against the grain I assumed that I would have been allowed to use all of my manufacturer’s coupons since I purchased the products.

In addition to the B1G1 Oral B Manual Toothbrush coupon, I had three (3) of the $0.75/1 Oral B coupons but because I, in my eyes, handed over too many of the Up rewards, I ended up with $2.25 in coupons that I took back home with me.

Ok…so here’s what I paid after coupons and rewards:

Subtotal: -$0.03
Tax: $2.31
Total OOP: $2.28
Received: (5) $3 UP+ Rewards

***Now had I’d used the manufacturer’s coupons FIRST I would have still paid about the same thing OOP, only HUGE difference is, I would have been able to use the three (3) $0.75/1 Oral B coupons and kept $2 of my UP rewards, instead of leaving with coupons I don’t need anymore.

linked to… Still not bad. but I would NEVER use store anything.. even store rewards card, before coupons. ouch! Lesson learned, thank goodness it only cost you $2!

Hello and welcome! I am a military spouse & mom of four boys and two girls, ages 1 to 10, oldest diagnosed with autism. We're located in the Charleston, SC area. My family and my faith are very important to me. Since I've started using coupons I have been able to save more money and become a better steward of my household. I hope to seed into the general public, and our military families, how to spend less and get more.

Get ready to take your grocery & household spending to a whole new level! Couponing is not only a means to seed but an avenue to harvest...both opportunities are endless & a joy to delight in.

I welcome feedback and comments! Thank you again!
