The Sears’ giftcards do not have an expiration date so if you are unable to get out to the Salute to Heroes Sale on the 25th of September, you are able to use them at any other time.

Thank you to everyone who participated and to Sears for giving us this opportunity to host such a giveaway.

As most of you may recall, my Hubby was deployed over this past Christmas Holiday. I can still remember the look on the faces of the children as, a week before Christmas, they had to hug their Dad and tell him that they would miss him, through the tears and screams.

I wasn’t sure how we were going to manage another Christmas without him here to celebrate with us. One of my buddies called me one night to share an awesome program through Sears called Heroes at Home.

Heroes at Home is a program that is geared towards assisting military families, and during the Christmas Holidays, families who have registered on their website have the opportunity of receiving at least three (3) giftcards to be used at one of their stores, to include K-Mart. The monies used to fund these cards are donated by some awesome families across the states, who are willingly to seed into the lives of someone else.

During the Christmas Holiday & New Year, we received giftcards, on behalf of Sears and the MANY families out there that wanted to make sure families of deployed members had a great holiday while their loved ones were away.

Last year, I came up with the idea of hiding the gifts within huge, black trashbags (you can see them in the pictures), to avoid the children finding them. Using the giftcards, we purchased each of them new bedding! I believe there’s a shot of one of the sets near the fireplace.

The winner has 48 hours to claim the prize before another winner is selected. Thank you to everyone who entered.

My family enjoy spending time together, watching movies, playing games, going on vacation, reading, wrestling with Daddy…the list goes on and on. When I was contacted by BlogSpark to host a giveaway for the Penguins of Madagascar: Project Penguin Launcher I immediately replied. I love watching the children’s faces light up at a new challenge, and this opportunity did not disappoint.

Project Penguin Launcher consists of four (4) missions:

Mission One: Dive In, Solider

Set an empty plastic cereal bowl on the table and try to pop your Penguin into it. Wear a helmet or you’ll be squid bait.

The children were a little quiet on this mission. I’m not sure if they were really concentrating or if they felt uncomfortable with the Penguins. After a bit of practice though…”watch out below” ;)! I wasn’t concerned too much with the idea of the objects hitting someone as they are bordered with a soft, flexible plastic and

Mission Two: Longest Penguin Propulsion Launcher

Challenge your troops to see who can launch a Penguin the farthest. Go long or go back to the zoo.

The boys enjoyed this one, but my oldest daughter was making sure they didn’t leave her behind!

Mission Three: Target Practice

Create a landing zone with a spoon and try to strategically drop your Penguin into the sweet spot. Hit the target or go back to the drawing board.

By far the most difficult challenge. This one took a great deal of coordination!

Mission Four: Clear the Wall

Do you have enough projectile pop to push your Penguin over the top of the box? Proceed launchin’ troops, earn those wings!

I think this was their favorite tasks! Of course, we were laughing so hard looking at each of them trying to figure out just the right spot to hit the launchers to have their Penguins clear the box. This almost felt like the longest Target Practice mission as all of the Penguins were flying way pass the boxes :)!

Think you have what it takes to be successful at the challenges? Where here’s your chance!

I am a huge fan of Chinese Food…usually when I like an item this much I attempt to make it at home, hence the idea behind the Southwestern Rolls, to avoid me wanting to head to spend a ridiculous amount of money on them with my large size family. Until I get around to tackling the Chinese Recipes I’m fond of, a little savings for prepared meals will suit me just fine.

Head over HERE to print your $1.60/1 Wanchai Ferry Frozen Entree Coupon…afterwards take a visit to Heather’s website, My Sweet Savings, to enter her giveaway for the items pictured below:
