I decided to take a peek inside of the Commissary today while the children were busy at golf. Initially, my task was to only go in to check on a few prices for items that I was working on to share with you all but my goodness…I HAD to pick up something, right…lol.

Here’s what I got:

(8) Uncle Ben’s Ready Rice Pouches, $1.19ea
-used (8) $1/1 Uncle Ben’s White or Brown Rice products, 1/3RP
makes them $0.19ea.

(2) Rolaids, 3ct., $1.26ea.-used (1) $4/2 Pepcid, Imodium, Lactaid, Rolaids, Mylanta, or Tucks product, any except trial size, 1/3RP
makes them FREE plus $1.48 OVERAGE

-used (1) B1G1 Stayfree Product, Any- 01-03-10 RP – Valid Up To $7.50

makes them $0.64 for (2) two!

(2) Reach Dental Floss, $0.75ea.
-used (2) $1/1 Reach Dental Floss Or Reach Access Flosser, Any – 01-03-10 RP
makes them FREE plus $0.25 OVERAGE ea. ($0.50 overage) -I had more of these Qs with me but holding on to them for next deal

Total # of items: 14

During deployments a lot of our families experience emotions that are among none other. I wanted to list a few services of which we have available at our local base for families that are unaware of some possibly stress relievers.

Please visit your Family Readiness Support Programs (A&FRC) for more details.

GIVE PARENTS A BREAK
One (1) Saturday each month the CDC and Youth Center will care for your child(ren) for five (5) hours. This is a wonderful opportunity to have some down time for self to either go on a Mommy’s Day out with the girls or simply curl up with a nice book.

FREE Childcare!
Personnel who are deployed for at least 30 days or more are eligible for 16 hours of FREE childcare for recuperation upon their return home.

Car Care Because We Care
While your spouse is deployed you are able to receive a FREE oil change and minor maintenance on your families’ primary vehicle. Please visit the A&FRC for a voucher prior to visiting the Auto Skills Center.

Operation R.E.A.D.
Reading Enjoyed Although Deployed! Before deploying you are able to record yourself reading books to your children.

Morale Calls
For 15 minutes each week, you can call your spouse for FREE via your base’s operator. Simply obtain your spouse’s DSN and provide this to the operator, informing them of your desire to place a morale call. The best part about this service is that you can do this from the comfort of your home. There are hour restrictions so please refer to your base service center for more detailed information.

E-Mail
Don’t have internet access at home? Visit the A&FRC to use their computers for FREE!

FREE Calling Cards
While deployed or TDY, military personnel are eligible to receive a FREE $20 calling card, also from the A&FRC.

There are quite a few current offers for military members and their families to take a nice vacation with little to no out of pocket expenses.

SeaWorld
Military members and three (3) of their dependents can visit the park for FREE until Dec. 31, 2009. Visit the Hero Salute Website for more information. Additional tickets can be purchased, on base, at your recreational facility.

Disney World
Military members receive a FREE 5-day, park hopper and water park ticket AND the member can also purchase up to five (5) additional tickets at $99ea. for either family members and/or their friends. Please note that these tickets do not include the park hopper nor water park features but can be added at an additional fee of $25 per ticket. Offer expires 12/23/2009. I’ve been told that you can find some great prices at the Shades of Green Resort on Walt Disney World as opposed to staying elsewhere.

***Do you have a birthday coming up? Did you know that Disney World offers FREE park admission to the public ON their birthdays during 2009? Check out the details HERE!

If you know of any other offers, please feel free to e-mail us the details.

I’m excited to announce a new service offered through our Airmen & Family Readiness Center on the Charleston AFB.

Upon several trips to the Commissary, I’ve noticed a small basket on the coupon booklet table maintaining an assortment of loss coupons. These coupons have been left by fellow couponers seeking to seed into the lives of others. Well, as of the past couple of weeks, a couple of awesome ladies at our Airmen & Family Readiness Center (AFRC) has been working diligently to present a great opportunity to our families seeking savings through the usage of coupons.

If you have coupons in which you do not use, i.e., baby coupons, pet coupons, food/restaurant coupons, bring them over to the Airmen’s Readiness Center, formely the Family Support Center, to share with other families. While there, feel free to search through available coupons left by others for ones in which meets the needs of your family.

There has been numerous months in which I have allowed coupons to expire because I have not been using them. Not only is this a great opportunity share unused savings but a chance to keep your coupons organized and in order.

You can bring uncut coupons, however, if you don’t mind, being that there are only a couple of ladies working on this project, clipping them and sorting them by food and nonfood categories would be a HUGE help. If you don’t have the extra time to do the clipping, please don’t allow this to deter you from bringing the coupons in.

Remember:
*The program is for CURRENT coupons only.
*This program is being offered as a service to military families with access to the Charleston AFB.

If you are a non-military family interested in donating your unwanted, current coupons, please click on the contact us tab to forward an e-mail of your intentions for further instructions.

Thank you, in advance, for making this endeavor a HUGE successful!

Fall Leaves

Greetings Military Families!

Get over to the Commissary to grab a couple of Armour Turkeys before they are all gone…last year they went rather quickly. They are usually in the back of the store near the milk section. The going price is currently $0.69 per pound.
