We’ve been blessed to make it to another new sales week. With that comes another deal. For those of you who are new, please jump right on in and work out the following transaction with us. If there are items in which your family do not want/need, feel free to tailor to scenario based upon your specific needs. If you need assistance in doing so please leave a comment with your questions.

These scenarios are based on stores which offer the double coupon incentive and are created, solely, as a tool to help you further your savings…seeding to feed!

I’ve been hearing from some of you, that you are still not where you would like to be with this whole couponing concept. You are seeing some savings but would like to do better. The most common items I’ve seen sent to my inbox for stockpiling tips is on paper products.

As many of you already know, I DO NOT, under any circumstances, want to be in a position where my paper products are low, mainly my toilet tissue. I can almost work with the paper towel and paper plates not being as plentiful, but tissue HAS to be in a comfortable number range or I get those pre-couponing thoughts racing through my head when we were purchasing, at FULL price and as needed. Not a good place to be in when you have so many people in one home.

Even if it’s just you or you and your child(ren) or you and your significant other, toilet tissue is a must have. So what I propose is a turn back to the basics. For the next few weeks or so, we are all going to focus on creating a stockpile of toilet tissue and/or paper towels at a comfortable level for your family’s needs.

Each New Week, New Deal transaction I put up will focus on this item and you have the option of replacing it with paper towels or something else your family may stand in the need of, such as produce or milk.

I encourage EVERYONE to start getting multiples of coupons. Again, this will be based upon your family’s needs.

These scenarios can be worked in addition to your normal shopping trips, you’ll just add these items to go towards your stockpile without adding much to your regular budget. As the weeks go by, you will start seeing your budget reduce as you will no longer need to purchase some of the same items and/or you’ll be spending less out-of-pocket (OOP) on them through the use of sales and coupons.

***BLOGGERS: If you’re participating in the Publix Weekly Deal Scenarios, I ask that you please add the button above to your posts as this original concept was a creative idea by Reaping Your Harvest as a way to meet readers requests. I don’t mind others joining in, but because it took much work and prayer to come up with this idea, I feel it’s only fair to note where the idea originated.

For those of you that are military families, you’ll be happy to see that we’ve also included commissary coupons, when available. Unfortunately, our local Publix stores are beginning to view military coupons as manufacturer coupons because they scan as such. Still great to see what’s available. And now you can stack a military coupon with a competitor coupon, so all is not lost.

Just getting started? Check out the Getting Started Guide

Our sales week are from Wednesday-Tuesday

Here are the Rules:

* You DO NOT have to buy two items to receive the B1G1 price
* Publix (Oakbrook/Dorchester Rd) is no longer stacking their store coupon along with a manufacturer, and a competitor coupon. You will only be allowed to use a maximum of TWO coupons on ONE item, as long one is a manufacturer.

*Per Store Manager (Oakbrook) the penny item is ONE per customer NOT one per transaction. Therefore, if you are doing more than one transaction in a single trip, on Sundays & Mondays, please only grab the penny item once.

(Coupons listed in GREEN are referring to coupons in which military families have access to and CAN use.)

For a few extra savings, here are some current $X/$XX coupons:
$5/$25 Rite Aid (exp. 10/31)

If there are things that you would like to stock up get to ordering your coupons now.

***I adjusted the scenario because I realized, on today, that the Peter Pan sizes did not match. I replaced them with two items that would increase your transaction total but reduce your OOP after coupons. Additionally, the price of the Vigo Rice has been adjusted to reflect the cost of the 5oz. bag needed for this transaction.

Welcome to a new sales week! We’re going to work on Bathroom Tissue & Paper Towels for those interested in starting or replenishing their stockpile. If you have enough coupons, you can always repeat these transactions. Remember, these are to be used as a guide and can be altered to fit the needs of your families.

Helpful Tips:

*All scenarios are based upon coupons doubling, when applicable.
*You are allowed to use (1) MFQ WITH (1) Store or Competitor coupon per item.
*Target coupons & FLIPs are limited to one (1) per transaction.

The idea behind these scenarios is to always get you the item of focus for the least money OOP.

If not, no worries as the majority of the items are food items so tax shouldn’t be that much.

Reaping In Abundance,
Kay

Fellow reader, Margaret, wanted to know if I thought the $0.85 deal on the Coke products at Family Dollars this week was a good deal, with the in-ad coupon.

Whenever, I see deals such as this, I immediately being to think on current sales elsewhere. This isn’t done to deter me from purchasing those products at the particular store, only as a means to allow me to see how much more, if any, I can get for my money.

In this case, I see that Publix has the 2L Pepsi Products on sale this week 5/$5. Now although each bottle is $0.15 more than the Coke products at Family Dollars, take a look at how, when using coupons properly, you can further stretch your dollar.

Scenario:

(5) Pepsi, 2L Products, 5/$5
(6) Hamburger Helpers, BOGO, $1.59
(2) Pledge Wipes, BOGO, $3.99
(4) Halls Cough Drops, BOGO, $1.69
(6) Progresso Soup, BOGO, $2.29
(2) Shedd’s Country Crock, BOGO, $1.89
(2) Crystal Light Drink Mix, BOGO, $4.69
(2) Old El Paso Dinner Kits, BOGO, $2.95

Use:

(1) $5/$25 Rite-Aid Purchase (PRINT)
(2) $0.75/3 Hamburger Helper (PRINT)
(3) $1/2 Hamburger Helper (Rite Aid Vid. Val. Q)
(1) $2/2 Pledge Products, 9/26 SS
(1) $2/2 Pledge Products (TARGET Q)
(2) BOGO Halls Products (MFQ within Rite-Aid Sales Ad, 9/26-10/2)
(4) $0.50/1 Halls (Rite-Aid Vid. Val. Q)
(2) $1/3 Progresso Soup, Better At Home Booklets
(3) $1/2 Progresso Soup (Rite-Aid Vid. Val. Q) *same coupon with Hamburger Helper & Granola Bar on it
(2) $1/1 Crystal Light Drink Mix (PRINT) OR $1.50/1 Crystal Light Tearpad, 12qt.
(2) $1.50/1 Crystal Light (PUBLIX) *was available last week on Publix Kraft site
(2) $0.50/1 Old El Paso Products (PRINT)

Subtotal (Pre-tax): $33.44
Total OOP (After Coupons): $4.25-$5.25 plus tax (depends upon Crystal MFQ used)

Now if Margaret goes to Family Dollars to purchase 5 of the 2L Coke products, she would pay $4.25 plus tax OOP….but that would be all she would get. For the same price, or a $1 more, she could go to Publix, work the scenario above and pay roughly the same amount of money OOP for her beverages, simply a different brand, however, in addition to the five (5) sodas, she would also walk away with 24 additional items to put in her stock pile for another rainy day.

Worked it out? Please feel free to come back and share your experiences.

Remember, this is only an idea as to how you can do more with less, or with the funds you were already planning on using. These deals can always be adjusted to fit the needs of your family. Simply allow this to act as a tool of guidance.

Reaping In Abundance,
Kay
