Publix: Homework Assignment (Valid 8/13-8/17)

Posted on: 08/14/2010

It was great seeing everyone this morning for the workshop at the Hickory Hawg (the food, afterwards, was DELICIOUS…Ribs, literally, were falling off of the bones). As in previous workshops, our mock training demonstrated potential scenarios to work at a couple of the local stores. Today we highlighted Target, Walgreens, and Publix. For our homework assignment, each participant is asked to work the scenarios out and report back their experiences.

This is a great way to get your feet wet without trying to figure out which items would be best to toss together to further reduce your OOP, but, at the same time, getting the items that you need, and some you may be wanting to try for the first time.

Last night we did both the Walgreens and Publix challenges. I’m happy to report that Walgreens went great and there was an added bonus that a catalina for a free playtex tampon 18 ct printed out for buying two kotex u tampons. This was at the Ladson and Dorchester Rds location.
We did have issues at the Old Trolley Rd Publix though. The deals for the most part worked out but the cashier was very rude to us and started lecturing about coupons and policies and wording and all. She also called some guy over to make sure she could do the veet thing and then only allowed us to do one.
Other than that everything went really well and we saved a TON!
Thanks so much for all you taught us. We had a great time and learned so much! Oh, and the BBQ sandwich I took home was amazing!

Greetings Michelle!

Absolutely wonderful job! I am a bit frustrated with individuals who are unaware of coupon policies rudeness to those who are seeking to provide for their families using the instruments in which the manufacturers and companies are providing as a service for us to use to purchase their products. When done correctly, no one should get upset and/or bothered by honest couponers…guess we all share some “genetic branding” which makes us liable to receive the same treatment as those that have deceived the stores in the past….very wrong, in my opinion.

Nevertheless, I’m glad you all were able to gain more knowledge in the art of couponing. Thank you so much for reporting back. The feedback assists with my mission in sharing with others.

…On another note…I think I was dreaming about the Hickory Hawg’s food last night, because I woke up carving one of those BBQ sandwiches. We ordered the Rib Plates and were stuffed by the time we left. Absolutely wonderful day!

Much success and prosperity to you on your road to spending less while getting more.

Kay

Hello and welcome! I am a military spouse & mom of four boys and two girls, ages 1 to 10, oldest diagnosed with autism. We're located in the Charleston, SC area. My family and my faith are very important to me. Since I've started using coupons I have been able to save more money and become a better steward of my household. I hope to seed into the general public, and our military families, how to spend less and get more.

Get ready to take your grocery & household spending to a whole new level! Couponing is not only a means to seed but an avenue to harvest...both opportunities are endless & a joy to delight in.

I welcome feedback and comments! Thank you again!
